About LCFCU
Lassen County Federal Credit Union History
The Lassen County Federal Credit Union was formed in 1966 under a federal charter by a small group of Lassen County employees who wanted a financial institution that would help fellow workers obtain small loans.
The secretary at the Lassen County Road Department ran the credit union from her desk for a number of years. She would handle deposits and withdraws and the credit committee would grant small loans. It has now grown to include anyone who lives, works, or worships in Lassen County.
We are the only locally owned and operated credit union in Lassen County.
Lassen County Federal Credit Union is proud to have the privilege to serve and represent the people of Lassen County for over 40 years. We have watched our community change over the years, with the loss of our lumber mills and the development of the prisons.
We are proud to be part of this community because when the chips are down the community pulls together as a family. Thanks to our members we have grown from a handfull of members to over 5600 members strong. With the support of the community we look forward to the next 40 years.
